BarMD uses the Student Portal to authenticate students and route them to the BarMD applications and resources enabled for their account. This page summarizes how portal sign-in data is used.

Information we use

The portal may use your name, email address, enabled application access, login activity, and authentication method. If you sign in with Google, we use the email address and basic profile details returned by Google to match you to your BarMD account.

SMS and mobile numbers

If you provide a mobile phone number and opt in to SMS messages, BarMD may use that number to send text messages for identity verification, login authentication, account security, and support related to your BarMD account. Message frequency varies based on your activity, such as requesting a login or verification code. Message and data rates may apply.

BarMD does not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We may share mobile number information with service providers only as needed to deliver SMS messages, operate the Student Portal, comply with law, or protect the security of the platform.

You may opt out of SMS messages by replying STOP. For help, reply HELP or contact hello@bar-md.com. Opting out of SMS may require you to use another available authentication method.

How we use it

We use this information to confirm your identity, send 1 time login codes, provide access to your enabled BarMD apps, support account administration, and protect the security of the platform.

Passkeys

If you create a passkey, the portal stores a public credential record used to verify future sign-ins. BarMD does not receive or store your device passcode, biometric data, or private passkey.

Data sharing

We share only the information needed to operate the BarMD student experience, including authentication, entitlement, email delivery, and enabled application access. We do not sell Student Portal sign-in data.
